Krysar, the Pied Piper of Hamelin
The German city of Hamelin has been corrupted by spite, greed and jealousy. A rat infestation has spread in the underground, then in people's homes, stealing food and jewels. A mysterious stranger appears, a piper who claims he can rid the city of the rodents in exchange for a reward.
This Czech adaptation of the famous medieval German fable is a stunning stop-motion masterpiece with a dark, creepy feel that stigmatises human nature's faults. The film's amazing aesthetic and the perfect animation of the puppets make it an essential work in the world of animation.
