The Annecy Festival receives an ever-increasing number of short films each year, which makes the selection process a difficult task that also means leaving out a great quantity.
France has an excellent production system for short films which is beneficial to filmmakers of the genre thanks to the quality of French animation schools and the diverse sources of funding.
Consequently, more and more short films are submitted to the Festival each year, which makes choosing from them all a difficult task.
Following the "Salon des refusés" principle, the Festival has prepared a programme by fishing out a few French productions from the great pool of works that were not chosen for the Official Selection. On the bill: five short films, two graduation films and a music video.
