The Disney Art Challenge is highlighting the talent and creativity of French Graphic Arts students at the Annecy Festival.
For the fourth Disney Art Challenge, chaired by John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, almost 350 students from 25 different French animation schools (RECA) submitted a piece of artwork around the theme "What’s happening under the ocean?" This subject was inspired by the latest Disney•Pixar feature, Finding Dory, which will be premiered at the Festival.
Participants were free in the choice of their concept art and could use traditional or digital techniques while creating a character and background in step with the theme.
These pieces of concept art will be exhibited outside the Préfecture de Haute-Savoie, rue du 30e régiment d’infanterie, during Festival week.
