The 1st "Yamato" saga aired in 1974, with its theme song "Saraba Chikyuu yo (Farewell, Earth)". "Space Battle Ship: Yamato" depicts heroes in a space voyage with only a year to human extinction. The franchise lead the SF anime boom and is loved to this day. In this 2009 film, Yamato has 3 months to save earth. Warriors arise! Save the human race!
