Another Day of Life is an ambitious production that was co-produced over 10 years between five countries (Spain, Poland, Belgium, Germany and Hungary). Directed by the Spanish director Raúl de la Fuente and the Polish director Damian Nenow, this film tells the true story of the great Polish reporter Ryszard Kapuściński.
Another Day of Life mixes animation and documentary footage, as well as mixing a personal account with History. Adapted from the eponymous book by Ryszard Kapuściński, the film describes his nightmare experience of the Angolan Civil War in 1975.
Kapuscinski is a brilliant veteran journalist but also an idealist, a defender of lost causes and revolutions. He convinces his bosses at the Polish Press Agency to send him to Angola where a bloody civil war has broken out on the eve of its independence. As he embarks on a seemingly suicidal road trip into the heart of Angola, his convictions and his relationship with his work will change forever.
More than a simple adaptation, this animated drama leaves a constant impression of hyperrealism. You won't leave the screening unscathed. A must see!
