What is your editorial strategy?
Ketnet, part of VRT, the public broadcaster in the Flemish-speaking part of Belgium, is the 360° love brand for children.
Ketnet’s 360° approach contains a dedicated linear television channel, children’s blocks on one of the main VRT channels, several apps, a website and more than 130 live events a year. The key elements in the 360° approach are innovations, participation, interaction, playing, watching and listening.
What type of projects/programs are you looking for?
The channel’s target audience is children from 0 to 12 years old. Ketnet has 2 sub-brands with their unique values, strategy, goals and branding: Ketnet Junior (0-6 years old) and Ketnet (6-12 years old). Ketnet coproduces and acquires programmes that are high-quality, innovative, refreshing and match the channel’s values. Ketnet’s values are connecting, stimulating, fascinating, positivity, relaxing, daring, and engaging. Ketnet’s programming does not apply a quota system with a percentage of air time for live action and a percentage for animation. 90% of the content is produced locally and 10% of the content is acquired. Coproductions’ animation with Ketnet need the involvement of a Flemish animation studio.
