Nadasdy Film was founded in 2001 by animation film Director-Producer Zoltán Horváth, and Producer and Administrator Nicolas Burlet.
Specialised in producing, directing and making animation films, this Geneva-based Swiss company produces TV series, short films and feature films.
For almost 20 years, Nadasdy Film has been working on creative and original projects using a variety of techniques such as animated drawings, CGI, stop motion and rotoscopy.
The films produced have been selected by numerous festivals including Berlin, Venice, Cannes, Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand and Annecy.
"After being commissioned by Annecy to create this year’s 2022 trailer, Nadasdy Film, the esteemed animation studio based in Geneva celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year, turned to Swiss Director Marjolaine Perreten, who’s been working within the studio for several years already. To ensure a better technical and linguistic mix she suggested collaborating with the Director Frederic Siegel from the collective in Zurich, Team Tumult.
Together they found a balance between Marjolaine’s touching, poetic humour and Frederic’s technical and graphic quality, to give life to a dynamic trailer that follows the little creatures’ journey, some of whom pay tribute to other Swiss creations, from the Swiss mountains to travel to Lake Annecy. A major historical migration."
This year, the Festival decided to call on an acclaimed illustrator and poster designer known especially for his alternative posters for cult films: Laurent Durieux. His work is acknowledged by such greats as Francis Ford Coppola and Steven Spielberg.
The artist awakens the imagination by depicting a story in one image using both retro and futuristic aesthetics. This time, his instantly recognisable universe takes us on a beautiful journey whose destination is: Annecy, its lake, and its Festival!
Everything is represented: the lake of course, references to animation and its perpetual motion, but also subtle allusions to neighbouring Switzerland whose animated creation will be in the limelight this year.
"Working with Laurent Durieux was a dream come true for the Annecy team. His exceptionally refined poster captures your attention and draws the eye in to explore the illustration’s details up close. The play on light and colour radiates a great sense of calm. So, let’s set sail on the animation yacht!" Marcel Jean, Artistic Director
