From initial graphic research to backgrounds, come and visit an exhibition that takes you through the films of Jean-François Laguionie.
Writer of books and for the screen, Jean-François Laguionie is one of France’s leading figures in animation filmmaking and has chosen to premiere his latest feature, Louise, at Annecy 2016.
The Museums of Annecy are marking this occasion with a retrospective exhibition dedicated to his many films including The Lady and the Cellist (Grand prix at Annecy 1965), Rowing Across the Atlantic (Palme d’Or at Cannes and César for Best Animated Film 1978) and Gwen, the Book of Sand, along with his contributions to the world of animation, with in particular the creation of his production studio, La Fabrique.
The Musée-Château invites you to follow the path that takes you from a solitary artist’s pencil to the big screen and is well outlined with notes, sketches, drawings and paintings showing how the poetic worlds of Jean-François Laguionie materialize and are shared.
A meeting will be held on Thursday 16th June at 4:00 pm with the filmmaker in the Grande salle of the Musée-Château. Open to all badgeholders and museum patrons, this will be an opportunity to present the DVD/book about Jean-François Laguioni, published in the “Les animés” collection, and to reminisce about his adventures at La Fabrique studio with some of his old mates.
