An Annecy Festival exclusive, Walt Disney Animation Studios will present never-before-seen footage from their upcoming feature "Moana".
The renowned directing duo of Ron Clements and Jon Musker will be here to give a sneak peek of never-before-seen footage from Moana.
After making their writing-directing debut on The Great Mouse Detective, the pair went on to write and direct such beloved Disney classics as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules.
Moana is an adventurous teenager living on a South Pacific island and is the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. She sets sail on a quest, like those of her ancestors, to save her people. Along the way, she meets the legendary demi-god Maui who accompanies her on this epic adventure.
Set for release in the US on 23rd November and in France on 30th November 2016, the film will be screened after the short Inner Workings, which will also be unveiled by the film crew at the Festival.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ short, Inner Workings, will be premiered at Annecy by director Leo Matsuda.
Leo Matsuda’s no newbie at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Story artist on previous hits Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph, he’ll present his latest creation Inner Workings at the Festival alongside producer Sean Lurie.
Inner Workings is the story of the internal struggle between a man’s pragmatic, logical side and his free-spirited, adventurous half. Created by a small team at Walt Disney Animation Studios in a unique, fast-paced style that blends CG and traditional hand-drawn animation, the short explores the importance of finding balance in daily life.
It will be shown with the never-before-seen footage from Moana, as they’ll be presented together when Moana hits French theatres on 30th November, 2016.
