Thirteen young animators fresh out of school have made short films inspired by the work of Guillaume Appolinaire, one of the foremost poets in the 20th century.
After already paying tribute to Jacques Prévert and Robert Desnos in the previous episodes, this year thirteen new graduates have taken Guillaume Appollinaire’s poems to the screen by translating his prose into images.
These poetic 3-minute shorts will be shown to the public at PATHÉ ANNECY on the Sunday before the Festival begins.
An exhibition is also being held at the Palais de l’Île – Hors les murs, showing how these animation newbies used images to bring the great poet’s words to life.
