A Festival screening event with "Tall Tales", the animated adaption of the popular collection from Gallimard!
Presented as a Work in Progress in 2016 with director Arnaud Bouron and co-director Antoon Krings, the finished production of Tall Tales from the Magical Garden of Antoon Krings is set to be screened in Annecy this year.
At the bottom of the garden, these funny little bugs have created a community that resembles our own. It’s a microcosm where everyone has a place and a well-defined role. However, it’s complicated to live in a community, to believe in yourself and develop your own personality!
Inspired by Antoon Krings’ books, Tall Tales from the Magical Garden of Antoon Krings tells the story of Apollo the cricket, a kind-hearted travelling performer who arrives in the little bugs’ village and unwittingly falls into a trap set by Wendy, the wicked cousin to the queen, who wants to take over the throne. With help from a little bee and other new friends, Apollo embarks on a perilous rescue mission that requires all his imagination to free the queen from her treacherous cousin and save the bugs’ hive.
Paying tribute to the 20th anniversary of the series and the sixty little bugs created and drawn by Antoon Krings, Tall Tales from the Magical Garden of Antoon Krings touches down in French theatres at the end of the year to whisk viewers away to the world of insects!
