Allow the ear to see and the eye to hear! Music in animation is the second theme to be honoured during the 2018 Festival. It was essential for Marcel Jean, artistic director, "to give the chance to composers to speak, allocate them an important place in the Festival programme, and allow the public and professionals to meet each other". The musical world of animation will thus be explored throughout this week of festivities!
During this event, the director Juan Antin will present the origins and story of the film to you, before giving the floor to the composer Pierre Hamon and the producer and musical producer Emmanuel Delétang. They will both address the theme of music in the film by discussing the different objects that were used (such as an ancient flute and condor feathers), the recording of specific instruments, editing and mixing work, and the wish to create the Pachamama clip. The composer will also take the opportunity to give a live musical performance with one of the instruments and relating to an excerpt from the film!
This is an educational and lively musical presentation that will immerse you in the heart of the sounds of Peru!
