The Executive Director of Rai Kids presents the 2022 line up of Rai’s offering for young kids and children, as well as the strategies and needs for the coming seasons.
Pandemic, crisis, and information on the war are giving new assignments to the Public Service Media. Global OTT players are changing the rules for VOD rights. Rai, the leader Italian broadcaster and a major European investor in animation, is adapting its strategy: to respond to the new requests of kids, families and stakeholders, as well as to support the plurality of talents and independent companies.
What is your editorial strategy?
The editorial offering for young kids, children and families is an essential part of Rai. Two dedicated TV channels, a radio channel for young kids, the exclusive app RaiPlay Yoyo, large sections for children and teens on the RaiPlay free VOD platform are home to animation, live action, documentaries, magazines and programs.
What type of projects/programs are you looking for?
All kinds of programs for children and young kids. Co-productions and pre-acquisitions of animation and kids drama, involving an Italian company, is the first requirement. Also acquisition of international content, consistent to a public service media editorial line.
