Discover the work screened in 4K resolution, stereoscopic 3D with Dolby Atmos sound, of visual artist and videographer Adriaan Lokman, who is also a jury member at the 2022 edition.
This event will go over and above the frontiers of a straight forward screening, it will be a unique and rare cinematic extravaganza. It will be screened in 4K resolution, stereoscopic 3D with Dolby Atmos sound. A once-only screening during the Festival and the opportunity to meet Adriaan Lokman and discuss his work.
Adriaan Lokman investigates the boundaries between abstraction and reality, with the ongoing desire to involve the viewer. Decors and characters, observations of often repetitive day-to-day routines, reduced to minimal, often geometrically ordered shapes, are at the limit of the recognizable.
He plays with codes, signs, and icons of our time and brings them to life with an orchestration of lights and shadows, camera movements and musical compositions to create rhythm and take spectators into his virtual worlds. He has made 6 independent films, including Barcode (Grand Prix for Best Short Film, Annecy 2002), Chase, and Flow (André-Martin Distinction for a French Short Film, Annecy 2019).
This year, Adriaan Lokman is a jury member for the Short Films category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
