1st July 1895, Captain Joshua Slocum leaves Boston Harbor aboard the "Spray", for the first solo round-the-world sail. 1st July 1950, Pierre begins the construction of the replica of the "Spray" in the garden of his suburban house on the banks of the Marne. Geneviève and her son François are enlisted for the occasion. The latter has just turned 11... He is passionate about this project and about the tutelary figure of Slocum, symbols of freedom.
