Social criticism, desapariciones (missing persons), gender violence and popular unrest are ever present in Mexico. Animation is the best medium to tell the stories of the unheard and fallen but never forgotten. Activism and the documentation of the political history of Mexico has been the main subject and motivation for Mexican directors through our history that defines the story of the country. The reflection on the social violence and politics that in recent decades have broken communities and the daily life in different regions of Mexico. These films demonstrate the commitment and urgency of Mexican animation to tell the structural violence that the country is going through and that disrupts our bodies and lives.
