Jorge R. Gutierrez

Emmy and Annie Award-winning Jorge R. Gutierrez is a Mexican animator, painter, voice actor, writer and director. He was responsible for The Book of Life (2014), the animated series El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Riviera (2007) as well as the mini-series Maya and the Three (2021), which he created, wrote and directed for Netflix.

The director is patron of the Mifa Campus this year and will likewise be presenting a masterclass to inspire and encourage the animation talents of tomorrow.

In addition, Jorge R. Gutierrez will be among our jury members as well as having designed this year’s Festival poster in Mexico’s colours!
