From failed pilot to Oscar nominee, the story behind the 2022 Cristal-winning animated TV Production My Year of Dicks is one of persistence, patience, experience and hustle.
Creator/writer Pamela Ribon shares what she learned in adapting her teenage love letters into a memoir that became an animated coming-of-age sensation that traveled the world and got the internet giggling. Topics include: How to find your voice while you're still finding yourself, how to be honest without being messy, how to finish what you start, and why "imposter syndrome" is bullshit. Tips on collaborating, networking, and keeping morale through the seemingly impossible. Why do we do this? When is it worth it? How do we help each other grow?
Let's push the boundaries of animation while protecting the artists creating it. Join this inspiring, engaging conversation aimed straight for your heart.
