Explore the new age of Mexican animation!

In a tribute to Mexico, José Iñesta has teamed up with seven renowned Mexican animation professionals: Sofía Carrillo, Ana Cruz, Lucía Cavalchini, Tania de León Young, Lourdes Villagómez, Christian Bermejo and Jordi Iñesta. Together, they have carefully concocted nine programmes comprising 88 short films, offering Annecy festivalgoers an enthralling plunge into the richness of this multifaceted culture.

"New Voices" showcases a selection of short films from emerging animators who bring new techniques, themes and perspectives to the art form. These creators have received specialised training in animation careers, hailing from schools in Mexico and abroad. Their work offers a fresh wave of experimentation and reflection, with a depiction of techniques, styles, and audiences that provide a glimpse into the future of Mexican animation. This is a celebration of innovative approaches that show the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
