Let’s continue the 2024 Annecy Festival Official Selection announcements with the VR Works.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival selection committee has chosen 10 immersive works to compete, 3 of them were directed or co-directed by women. No fewer than 102 projects were submitted from 34 different countries this year – that’s a record! To round off the Official Selection, these VR Works will be followed by the announcement of the Feature Films in competition.

"This year, 10 VR works will share the stage at this 2024 edition! That’s a record number, as are the 102 submissions from 34 different countries.
This new selection reflects the eclecticism of the productions, the powerful themes, and the wide variety of techniques used. The programme explores a host of topics, including filiation, forgiveness, the search for identity, poetry, childhood, ecology, and new worlds. You will discover films that are profoundly humanist, political, and daring, which embody the full scope of virtual reality animation.
There will be 11 nationalities represented among the 8 male and 3 female directors showcased."

You can discover and experience these VR works in Bonlieu, salle de création, and at the Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat in the XR&Games Area.
