We're delighted to welcome you once again to Annecy, which for the week of the Festival becomes the undisputed epicentre of the world's animated cinema.

It's a moment we all look forward to, a time when we join together in our shared passion for this unique art form.

This year, the Annecy Festival is flying the colours of Portuguese animation, on a date that is so symbolic for this beautiful country, namely the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. We're honoured and excited to introduce you to filmmaking that dates back a century, and to celebrate the diversity and creativity of its artists.

By its very nature, animation constantly pushes back the boundaries of imagination and possibility. Here in Annecy, we thrive on these discoveries and experiments, in an ongoing dialogue between the past, present and future of cinema. The films in competition, previews and meetings with the artists are moments of pure alchemy, when cinema reveals its unique ability to touch our souls and open our eyes to the world.

We invite you to plunge into this universe where each film is a window onto the unknown, where each work is a journey. We're set to be surprised, moved and inspired by these works that come from all over the world to be showcased here in Annecy, the world capital of animated film.

Let's make the most of every moment of this festival, share our love of cinema and continue to explore this boundless art form together. Annecy is a festival, and this festival is a celebration of animation.

Long live cinema, long live animation, and long live Annecy!
