From June 9th to 15th, the Festival and the International Animation Film Market (Mifa) will be turning the spotlight on Portuguese animation.

With nearly 16,000 accredited visitors in 2023, representing some 100 countries, and a record attendance for the second year running, the Annecy Festival and Mifa are firmly established as key events for both professionals and fans of the world's animated films, making it the animated equivalent of the Cannes Film Festival.

As a long-standing partner, the Council has stepped up its support for all facets of the animation industry, from film-making and creation to distribution and training. As a result, support has been doubled from 2022, bringing our commitment to the animation film industry as a whole to €1M. The Council is also a key partner in the future Cité Internationale du Cinéma d'Animation on the historic Haras d'Annecy site, with a contribution of €17M. And last but not least, it helps fund the screening of the best films from the Festival in arthouse cinemas throughout Haute-Savoie.

I would like to congratulate the CITIA team, the many volunteers and all those involved in this event, who are helping to raise the profile of Haute-Savoie internationally.

Enjoy the Festival!
