Highly acclaimed American Producer Bonnie Arnold was awarded a Golden Ticket, a lifetime Annecy Festival accreditation!
A skilled filmmaker and driving force behind imaginative storytelling, Bonnie Arnold is a two-time Academy Award®-nominee. And today, the Annecy Festival presented her with this prestigious accolade at the official Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member reception held at the Festival.
As an accomplished and prolific producer, she has always been driven to tell stories which move, delight, and resonate with audiences. This passion for storytelling has taken her into production of every type and scope, and advanced animation as an art form. Arnold's impressive work ranges from Disney’s history-making animation feature film, Toy Story, to The Last Station by Sony Pictures Classics. Currently producing an original Peanuts feature film directed by Steve Martino for WildBrain Studios and Peanuts Worldwide, which will be released by Apple+. She is also Executive Producer on Netflix’s That Christmas, written by Richard Curtis and directed by Simon Otto, presented as a Work in Progress at the Annecy Festival and due for release later in the year. Bonnie Arnold produced the three Academy Award®-nominated How to Train Your Dragon animation film trilogy: How to Train Your Dragon, How to Train Your Dragon 2, and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. One of the most respected executives in the animation business, Arnold was elected to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors in 2018. She was elected in 2023 as Vice President on the Board serving as Chair of the Membership Committee.
It is for all these reasons, as well as her investment and productions at Walt Disney, Pixar and DreamWorks, that the Annecy Festival is proud to award a Golden Ticket to this leading figure in animation.
"Bonnie Arnold is a Festival ally, a constant companion in our ongoing evolution and a key partner in our success. Today, it is with immense pleasure that the Annecy Festival presents her with a Golden Ticket in acknowledgement of her long-standing support," declared Marcel Jean, the Festival's Artistic Director.
Mickaël Marin, CITIA's CEO, added: "Bonnie Arnold has been instrumental in changing the way feature films are produced, and it is this visionary mindset that we also wish to honour."
Bonnie Arnold follows in the footsteps of Christopher Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination who received the Golden Ticket last year.
